During the twentieth century, there was fierce debate about how new dwellings should be shaped. Who or what influences the ideals associated with “proper” contemporary living? The publication design displays models spanning a period of more than 100 years showing how the places where we live become social rehearsal stages and fields of formal experimentation and continually create new links between the public and private realms.
